Michele Billings is an artist originally from Maine now enjoying wide-open spaces where she can hike and bike around The Solitario. Most of her inspiration for painting is found on these outdoor excursions. Her work features natural landscapes, animals, and ravens, in particular. Michele has painted since she was a girl and loves lettering and bold graphics, which led to her career painting signs and murals, though she creates a prolific body of artistic work. “I want my signs to be works of art, not just utilitarian,” Michele says. Her preferred medium is oils.

Michele’s murals can be seen around Terlingua, including Shot Time Liquors and The Starlight Theater. Her oil paintings are displayed for sale at The Earth and Fire Gallery in the Terlingua Ghost Town.
